I have been out of the loop as of late. But I was wondering if there was a new LEDWiz plugin? The current one quit working for me altogether. So if there is a new one in development I would be happy to beta test Since I do have 3 mamecabs & a slikstik solitare unit all electric ice buttoned up with lighted joysticks. Thanx :)

Hang in there, the LEDWiz plugin will be getting an update soon (after development of the CPViewer has finished). The update is mainly for adding support for Ultimarc's LED Controller but it will also be a major rehaul of the code to include more accurate lighting and hopefully squash any major bugs along the way.

I hope you will be available when that's happening because I will need beta testers then.

Is this out yet? or when is it expected... I had asked Andy about it a couple of months ago but he couldn't give me any info on it

So the CPViewer is still in active development?

Yes, I'm working hard on this. I've added another "feature" which has pushed back the release date even further (The idea came to me in a dream and I had to add it!) Also I'm going to be working with Howard to get the input mapping as accurate as possible, and that will take some time also. I think it will be worth the wait when it's finally released though :)

I think release date is soon. Andy has been working with some developers so that when it's released there will be some support out there. I've currently got GameEx covered (and have the hardware but havn't had a chance to check it out yet). It's well made, solid as with everything from Ultimarc. I definately recommend this device if you want a simple, low price LED controller with 16 outputs. A bit of info has been released about the dev kit here

It's not really my fault it works like that ;) The source code to the ledwiz.dll is not open and it was never written to support multiple applications accessing the LEDWiz at once. I tried to get hold of the source to fix this, and it was an ongoing thing for a while, but I never got my hands on it. Hang around for when I get on to doing the plugin update and I will see if I can add those features you wanted into the plugin. I think it was some sort of timer and flashing thing, you will have to jog my memory.

And I certainly appreciate your help in trying to get this from MikeQ. Quite frankly, its frustrating that he nor Randy would release it. And if Andy's board can do a better job than Randy's, I will get one. Thanks for all your work on this Headkaze!

I haven't followed the LEDWiz thread at all and I don't have one, but I just had a question/suggestion based on your comment above HK. You said: "the ledwiz.dll ... was never written to support multiple applications accessing the LEDWiz at once". So, what's the problem? If you have multiple applications that need the dll, why can't you have those applications point to the same wrapper? That way, you would have a custom application take multiple inputs from multiple programs, yet only send a single input at a time from the same program.

Like I said, I don't know the situation and this is just a suggestion in case it hasn't been thought of yet (which is probably a bad assumption  )

Yeah don't worry headkaze I know it's not your fault and I really appreciate the work you've put into your pluggin... yeah it was a timer that mean't you had to keep inserting coins if you were playing a console emulator so you would get a min for free and then to play more you would need to insert a credit which added a min on to the timer and if the timer ran out my script would then exit the emulator, I was just using the ledwiz as a means of communicating the the timer status, red meant you had a min left, yellow meant 2 mins and green was 3 mins and over

the other thing I had going was a credit store that when you inserted a coin the script stored how many credits and light up a credit button which you then pressed to send a credit to the game, my cabinet is set for 10p a go with an 8 coind validator so this mean't if I was playing a game and inserted £1 I wouldn't loose the other 9 credits if I exited that game

Once you start on the new pluggin again I'm certainly up for a bit of beta testing

Oh Before I Forget. Are there any plans in the works to be able to customize button colors and lighted buttons for particular games (I.E. Asteroids & Neogeo)? That would be great as it sits right now a C02 panel with pinball kit has 30 buttons that could be used. Current plugin does not allow for in game lighting using the asteroids layout (it was a bear to try to get the neogeo layout working). I am hoping for support on this if not oh well I will be happy to test new plugin nevertheless. :)

As I understand, the color information is supposed to be stored in the controls.dat file. That info is pretty old, so it may no longer be how it's being done today, though.
