If available control panel will be shown for nine seconds or until key/button press when launching a game

In game control panel shows and exits much quicker. It also shows a screen capture of the game as the background

External applications now have options for launch before and launch after

Call it getting ready for headkaze's next creation! I hope he lets me use it ;)

Fantastic work! This is really high on my desired functionality list: so a big personal 'thank you and well done' from me!

I'll look forward to trying this after work: Does it still unpause mame when entering/exiting the ctrl panel? Either way: the default startup control display should alleviate the need for this.

One more question: the what's new also mentions that emu exiting is speeded up if used with advanced cfg. Are users able to create these advanced cfgs for their preferred emus? There only seem to be a few by default.

Anyway - again - great work!

Your welcome, and yes the emu configs are custom. I hope to make it more intuitive but for now, you just take a copy of one of the ini's with windows explorer and rename it.

The feature is a little hidden, like I said I hope to make it more intuitive, maybe Ben can do something with them in the setup wizard in the future, or I can code a front end for editing and creating them. Something I want to do at least.

Cheers.

What exactly does this feature do? I'm not sure I follow... I can copy an advanced config from, say, ZSNES and apply it to VirtuaNES? What's the benefit?

yeah you copy the file, then edit it. Look at one of the files. It should explain what every thing does. You dont need them for every emu, just when you need to do something like map a gamepad to keyboard or remap keyboard, set exit combination on gamepad etc.
