Hey!

I wanted to set up XPadder to start before it's starting the game.

So I put into Launch Before:

C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Shad\Desktop\Tools\XPadder\Xpadder.exe "[Rom]"

and into Launch after:

C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Shad\Desktop\Tools\XPadder\Xpadder.exe /C

But it doesn't work. How can I load XPadder with a profile when I start a game and close it when i exit the game?

Well is the profile stored where the xpadder executable is?...if not thats probably your problem...as that line assumes that it is.

Also you are using a current version of xpadder...because when I first started making waves about this app...it didn't support CLI.

Anyways this is what I have for use with nullDC:

LaunchBefore=C:\Program Files\Xpadder\Xpadder.exe "[ROMPATH]\_Player 1" "[ROMPATH]\_Player 2" "[ROMPATH]\_Player 3" "[ROMPATH]\_Player 4" /M

Tho some thing cleaner would probably be:

LaunchBefore=C:\Program Files\Xpadder\Xpadder.exe "[ROMPATH]\Profiles\_Player 1" /M

However I'm loading the same profiles every time...for per game I guess some thing like so would be in order:

LaunchBefore=C:\Program Files\Xpadder\Xpadder.exe "[ROMPATH]\Profiles\[ROM]" /M

Ether way tho I'm storing profiles in a sub folder of the folder containing my roms...it would be nice tho if we had an alias like [EMUPATH] which would give use the working path to the emulator...like whats in MameWah.

Well not sure if I helped or hurt...but best of luck ether way.

Well, now it starts XPadder. But it doesn't start the game.

I have to quit XPadder with my task manager, and then the game starts.

Now the game starts, but XPadder can't find the files...

It search for different terms now.

I try to run Grim Fandango (PC game).

Game starts, but without control. When I close the game and GameEx, XPadder shows the error.

First error:

File cannot be found or cannot be opened

Name pc

Type xpadderprofile

Location c:\programme\xpadder\ordner

Second error:
Cannot open requested or last used profile

Profile pc

Location c:\programme\xpadder\ordner

Controller Name Generic USB Joystick

This profile cannot be opened. If it exists in the recent list it will now be removed.

I have no clue... -.-

Lets see if we can get some common ground here...you can change things around later...I just want us both on the same page for now. :)

The Xpadder executable is:

c:\programme\xpadder\Xpadder.exe
Next *.xpaddercontroller files in:
c:\programme\xpadder\controlers\

So for you it would look like:

c:\programme\xpadder\controlers\Generic USB Joystick.xpaddercontroller
Next *.xpadderprofile files in:
c:\programme\xpadder\profiles\

So for you it would look like:

c:\programme\xpadder\profiles\Grim Fandango (PC game).xpadderprofile

Now in GameEx:

AlsoLaunch=c:\programme\xpadder\Xpadder.exe "c:\programme\xpadder\profiles\Grim Fandango (PC game)" /M

LaunchAfter=c:\programme\xpadder\Xpadder.exe /C

Okay now launch Grim Fandango and see if things workout correctly.

Thanks for your help! :)

Well, it's the same problem again.

XPadder starts, it minimizes, black screen

Then I press ctrl+alt+del -> task manager -> I close XPadder

The game starts.

When I start XPadder manually, and then the game, it works without a problem.

Okay Start Xpadder, then launch GameEx...then launch Grim Fandango

This way Xpadder wont launch...which maybe screwing up the game...but will simply load the profile.

Oh might be a little bit before I respond again...generating a new db for GameCube. :)

You're a genius! :)

Okay, I've got it. Made a "standart profile" for launch after with just blank buttons in XPadder. (so it doesn't close XPadder)

And launch before just XPadder, with the profile location and the [Rom] parameter.

And it works great! :)

Thanks dude!

And I'm looking forward to your databases ;)

Will be a very good improvement for the future of GameEx.

Hehe no...I'm no genius thats for sure...best score was 155 for the IQ which is 5 points to low...and that was some time ago...and with age ones IQ drops...so...clearly no hope for me now. ;)

Heh but thanks anyways.

Your welcome...as for the db's...got GameCube done...but I think I'll start taking a look into db design and see if I can come up with something I like and can automate.

What is a measure of intelligence? "The brilliant and successful music composer who handled his money so poorly that he was always running from his creditors (incidentally, his name was Mozart)?". An IQ test won't show if your an expert in some technical subject or have some special quality or skill. You might be creative, good at conceptualizing abstract ideas, but you might suck at maths or painting. Van Gough cut off his ear and sent it to his lover, how smart is that? But he is known as one of the greatest Impressionist artists of all time. So really I wouldn't go by your IQ as a way of saying if your a "genius" or not.
