Hey all,

here's the situation: i have a newly installed pc running great, with an arcadeVGA card inside.

Gameex starts and runs perfect when run on my pc LCD screen. However, when i try running it on my arcade monitor, i get to see the 'nag' screen and after a few seconds, i see a flash of a blue screen of death, followed by a restart.

I looked in my system logs and came to this error: don't know if it has anything to do with the problem at hand though, i googled for that problem, and some users report it occuring with each restart of their system.

CPLIB:: open session - failed to load the library

any help much appreciated. I have already got Gameex working with an arcadevga card and my arcade machine, but that pc died a few weeks ago :-s

i will try that option. Ultimarc drivers are installed correctly. It's a really strange problem because it's not like i have bad image or anything (at least not on the registration screen), and gameex runs well when run on my lcd....

To me this sounds like an issue with ArcadeVGA drivers. That error you refer to is a file from the ATI drivers. The ArcadeVGA mode in GameEx does not do anything until you run a MAME game, and even then it would not cause anything like your describing. Things to look at are the resolution your running GameEx at and again the drivers. What OS are you running?

when I first installed my arcadevga my desktop colour depth set itself to 16 bit and GameEx would crash after the loading screen, changing back to 32 bit sorted it out, just checked there now though and it doesn't do it anymore but it might be worth checking

Ok i solved the issue... apparently i used an incompatible gameex theme. When using the arcade 640x288 theme gameex starts up fine.

I ran into another issue now though: when i want gameex to play video previews of my mame games, it just 'hangs'. I have now renamed my video preview folder, and gameex runs smooth, so something is probably messing up the video playback (tried using ffdshow and k-lite codec pack standard for now)...

I haven't looked on this forum to see if there are similar problems, so i will try that first.

Thanx for the help, hope my theme-solution can help others too
