I have modified several of the default MAME control settings. I want the LED plugin to light up the modified controls, not the MAME default. I figured all I had to do was to change the controls.ini. However, MAME is still lighting the default controls. What do I need to change to make this work.

Thanks

I am working towards improving the custom input functionality of the plugin. At the moment it was sort of thrown in, but it does work for me!

I have custom key mappings for all my NeoGeo games in cfg\[rom].cfg and it maps them okay. It should also take into account cfg\default.cfg. My plugin does not take into account ctrlr\[name].cfg yet though.

I think I may have misunderstood how the mappings work. So I will be working on that soon.

Oh BTW if you want to use the custom input mapping feature you also have to select the Key Code in the plugin's LEDWiz config for it to work.

Yeah changing the .cfg's works for me too, I've made custom cfgs for the Bishi Bashi style games were having the proper colour is important

I'm probably missing something here. I see my modified key mappings in mame\cfg folder, but that doesn't affect the LED settings. I was assuming they were based off of \GameEx\Data\controls.ini. Are you guys saying that by modifing the key mappings within MAME (which produces the key mappings in mame\cfg) that the LED plugin should recoginize the modification.

Yes the plugin reads the config files from mame\cfg. But you have to associate your controls to the keys your mapping to in order for the plugin to map them correctly. In the LEDWiz tab in the plugin configuration you will see a dropdown list where you can assign a KEYCODE_x to each control. Only after that will the mappings work.

I have all of my key mappings set in the LEDWiz plugin. I suspect the problem is the way I have MAME setup. Originally I used to run PowerMAME32. However when this LEDWiz plugin became available I switched to MAME32. Since I had everything setup in PowerMAME32, I kept all of the configuration directories there. So, in GameEx, my MAME32 directory is D:\MAME32, but all of my other MAME related directories (ROMS, cabinets, panels, etc) are D:\PowerMAME32. My modified key mappings are coming from D:\PowerMAME32. Is it possible that LEDWiz is using the MAME32 directory?

As I quick fix, I copied MAME32 into my PowerMAME32 directory, and set all my directories to D:\PowerMAME32. That didn't help, and actually produced some strange key mappings in LEDWiz.
