GameEx does have an in built PDF viewer (manual viewer). So it would be fairly easy for me to code an ebook viewer in GameEx using its in built pdf viewer. Is there any interest in this, and anyone have any ideas such as where it should appear in the menu?

I think this would be a great feature.

I mean, it would be THE ONLY front-end with such a feature and if it is easy to code, why not =)

I would like the ability to use CDisplay (comic book reader) seperately as a reader as opposed to setting it up as an emulator or app. Perhaps you can give Gameex the ability to use its own pdf viewer and the option to set up seperate viewers such as CDisplay which is just a sequential image (jpeg, png, gif) viewer. In other words, I would like the ability to start both viewers from the same place in the Gameex menu.

Yes, +1 here on the CDisplay use. I've already did a config-file to use it (available in the config&ini thread), but it would be nice to be able to see "read this e-book now" instead of "play this game now" on the screen. Also, the option of grouping series of books (for comic books for example) in a folder or something would be nice. Sorry if this comes off to much as a feature request.

Yep, I use your config on my cab. Nice find on this app by the way.

You know you can turn off the game info page (play this game now) on a per emulator basis now?

Oh yeah? Cool. I will try that and upload my config again. CDisplay is an app that reads .zip and .rar archives that has a changed extension (zip->cbz rar->cbr). I don't think it'll have PDF support, but I don't really know much about anything. :D It would be really cool if you'd have the option in GameEx e-book setup like this (-> is just in the example to illustrate a selector bar in the wizard/advanced config):

E-Books

PDF Support (Use GameEx built in support) -> Yes/No

Support for CBR and CBZ format -> Yes/No

Path to CDisplay comic viewer -> Browse

The "Path to CDisplay comic viewer" could be greyed out unless the above is selected.

I haven't checked for a while, but I'm guessing that CDisplay is open source and perhaps could be worked into a GameEx plugin?

I didn't realize you could do this either Tom, but I checked it out and it works great. I think what I don't like is having to go to my emulators/games section of the GameEx menu to read a comic. It just doesn't feel right. I agree with Emph about having the comics with the E-reader section. If you haven't already checked it out, you should take a look at the CDisplay software. I can E-mail you a sample to read so you can see how cool it is if you like. I think it fits with GameEx very nicely (even if your not into comics).
