things im having trouble with with Game Ex

1. I have downloaded the other emulators but i cant seem to get them set up correctly, e.g. Whenever i try to open gba rom it will just go to a black screen, does this mean that when game ex is opening the emulator is it supposed to open the emulator or can it be set to open a game from a list in the emulator. This may sound confusing lol i think ive confused myself.

2.What games are supported by mame, i know cps-1 , cps-2 and neo geo roms work but what other arcade games do work because ive tried downloading some and they dont work. I cant seem to find any real list of games supported.

3. My mame emulator controls, there wiered i have all the buttons assigned in the config but in games where those buttons are used they do nothing.

2. You can go to sites like Maws and look up if games are playable. http://www.mameworld.net/maws/

Hit Browse at the top of the page. Hit Driver Status on the menu that just opened on the left. Now choose good, imperfect, preliminary. (hint: you want the good ones.)

1. I'm just doing setup for all the emulators now. So far everything is working remarkably well. When I have a problem with one, it usually means I did something wrong in the setup (which can be edited by choosing the setup wizard and selecting Custom). Double check your vba entry to make sure everything seems right to you. If you can't spot the problem, type out your settings here, and I'm sure someone can figure out whats wrong. A quick hint. Make sure your emulators are starting in full screen mode if you are using GameEx in fullscreen mode or else you'll just see a black screen. That sounds like it may be your problem.

You definitely do NOT want to Pause the game before hitting TAB. That causes problems. Just let them game run in demo mode while you setup the controls.

Before you do that though, what type of controls (encoder, keyboard hack?) are you using? If you open notepad (if windows), do the buttons show up there when hit?

Sounds to me as if you haven't figured out the Parent/Clone set relationship yet.

In addition to the BIOS, you need the parent ROM set if you intend to play a clone. Example: tmnt2.zip is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles parent ROM set. tmnt2b.zip is a clone. In order to run tmnt2b.zip you also need to have tmnt2.zip

Does that make sense?
