Im trying to map a new code to the in game panel viewer.

I changed in settings to the VK code = 33

Im using the X-arcade CP and holding the Left-Shift button + start1 = !

Looking at ascii tables !=33 dec

however, this doesn't work. If I change it back to 76 decimal, then I can press L on a keyboard and it works, but I have no L equivalent on the x-arcade. I don't want to create a custom programing for the x-arcade, as just want to use default assignments.

Am I missing something here? BTW, pressing ! on the keyboard doesn't work either

thanks

Ok,

Still having problems with this. I have changed the setting to 1, and also tried 5 for the values. According to the virtual key charts, these should map to the left mouse button. I removed the mouse buttons from the mame games in the tab menu as well.

however, I still can not get the CP panel to view. Does gameEx support only the keys listed in the html file, or any virtual key code?

anyone?

thx tim

If you run the Setup Wizard you can enter the key you want for the CP Viewer. Go to "Advanced MAME Settings (1)" and next to "Ingame CP View VK" press the [...] button to enter the new key.

thanks.

didn't realize the options/funtionality for the game wizard are different than the advance config.

However, the wizard won't let me hit the l or r mouse buttons. It does recognise all other keys on the x-arcade, but they are used in the game.

will keep trying on this as this is the last that is holding up my CP instruction panel.

You can't use a mouse button to show the CP, it must be a key on the keyboard. Although you could write an AutoHotkey script that will map the mouse button to the L key.

Thanks!!! that worked perfectly!!!

I was able to map the mouse + P2 buttons to send the L key.

I also launched the exe compiled version from within gameex in the tweak menu item. This allowed me to complete the bezel diagram (attached i hope) that I have been working on. Still needs a few tweaks but this will help!!!

thanks again

tim
