Hi,

I like to use Gameex as a frontend for some emulators. I installed Gameex 7.99 and used the setup wizard. When I start gameex it crashes with the following error:

I tried some other Skins and it worked a few times very well. But after restarting my PC the error occures again. Sometimes gameex starts with the gameex animation but then it freezes and i have to reset my PC...

My system:

AMD Athlon64 3200 (?) Venice

ASUS Motherboard A8V VM

ASUS EAX1300PRO Grafic Card

160gb HD

512mb RAM

I thin I will go crazy.....

Help PLEASE!!

Please post entire log. Also does it work with either the Media Center or MCE glossy theme. You can set this in the setup wizard or advanced configuration. Please confim, and post the whole log.

Tom,

I had a crash the first couple of times I loaded GameEx after upgrading to 7.99 also. I haven't had time to get the log off the machine yet, but will try to get it tonight (assuming the crash is still there). In any case, there wasn't much info other than that it crashed and shut down. I know it was a DirectX type error (yeah, I know that doesn't really help much :blink: ).

Like I said, I'll try to get it to crash and upload the file tonight.

Hi Tom,

I tried the MCE and the MCE Glossy Theme. The MCE Theme worked for about 10 seconds and ended in a total crash of my PC. I also got a blue screen that says "TERMINAL_SERVER_DRIVER_MADE_INCORRECT_MEMORY_REFERENCE" but I think gameex shouldn´t have caused this error...

I rebooted and started gameex again and I got the following error log:

I have the ATI Drivers installed. Maybe this one causes the error.

Have you got the latest ATI drivers installed I seem to recall this issue before, and installing latest drivers solved it.

I have the latest driver from the ASUS page. Should I try older ones?

Truy the actual ATI drivers from ATI.com. The Asus drivers on there site are probably ancient.

I'm using the Radeon Omega Drivers v3.8.291. I don't know off the top of my head which Catalyst drivers these are based on, but I know the new version (v3.8.330) is based on the Catalyst 7.1 drivers. What version have you experienced problems with? I could upgrade to the new Omega drivers, but I would prefer not using the actual ATI ones since they like to install a bunch of other garbage.

I really dont know, but if your using hacked drivers, its something i cant help out with unless i can trace this down to a bug in GameEx. but can you post the log so we can determine if it is actually the same issue? in addition try version 8.00

EDIT: It is possible to disable all the extra crap.

I may just try installing the regular drivers without the extra garbage and see how that goes. I noticed the newest Catalyst drivers are at v7.3 and Omega is only at v7.1.

I'll install v8.00 today and report back if I get a chance. Thanks for the reply!
