Hello,

i have just finished to aseemble my last cabinet, i'm in beta test, i need some help:

1) is possible to set UltraStick 360 to play game like Battle Shark ( US ) [MAME32 v113] that use ADStick device?

I try it with different solution ( 4 way ecc ) but no result, the cursor move only in two direction.

2) is possible to set the Ultrastick 360 to simulate/emulate lightgun device? If yes... Explane me!

3) I have made the control panel with: 2 UltraStick 360 and 7 button each.

How to set up a custom mapping for this, i need to set:

button 1 player 1

button 2 buttom 1

buttom 3 buttom 2

buttom 4 buttom 3

buttom 5 buttom 4

buttom 6 ESC

button 7 to coin

And something similar to player 2.

Thanks for support

1) Can't answer for sure, I don't know the game. In general though, you can use a joystick to control ANY game/control. So, my answer would be probably, but I don't know.

2) Yes, sort of. If you set up MAME to use the joystick for lightguns, then you can control the cross hairs with the joysticks. Be aware that this is not the best option as far as how fun it is, but it does work if you must use them. It's easy in MAME32. Just go to the properties menu and on the page where you select controls, there is an area that you can choose how you want the trackball, lightgun, etc controlled.

3) You want to set up a generic set of controls in MAME to do this. Easiest way is to launch a game and hit tab (by default). Go to the generic controls section and change the controls however you want. Then, when you launch a game it will default to those. Be aware that if you have any games set up already using the individual game setup, the generic settings will not apply.

I have tryed this simple solution but i cant get a good result.

I will try to configure better. But i think there is some hardware problem!

The same in the point one!

I have allready tested this option, but the cursor move too fast!

I have tryed, is possible that i have some custom control ffor single game.

I must check.

All the suggestion are wellcome, in this case i have allready tested it before posting, in any case.... Thanks.

1) I never said good result  You can make it work, but it won't feel like the original game's controls.

2) Same as 1). You can make it work, but it will not feel correct. Then again, I wouldn't expect a joystick to feel like a light gun. You can adjust the sensitivity of the joystick for this control I think. Check the controls section in MAME and look around for sensitivity options (hit tab and select the correct control).

3) Yes! You can definitely have controls specific for each game. There are over 6000 games, so if you wanted, you could have 6000+ individual control mappings. My recommendation is to get the general configuration of your controls defined in the "general" section of MAME controls. Then, if a specific game needs tweaking, go back in and adjust the P1, P2, etc. controls for that game. It will have all of your default settings in there from the "general" section so you only need to change the ones that are different.

In fact, this is exactly how I have set my controls up. I have a 7 button SF/NeoGeo layout. I use the 4 NeoGeo buttons for buttons 1-4 for about 95% of the games. For the rest that use 5 or more, I have them set up to use the 6 SF buttons with button 1 being the upper left of the group of 6. This meant that I had to go in and adjust all 5 and 6 button games manually, but it was better than setting up the controls for EVERY game manually.

Hope that helps...
