Create Snaps only working half the time

When I go through the create snaps feature, I've noticed that a bunch of the snaps end up just being 7kb black screens. This doesn't happen all of the time and if I were to delete all of the snaps and retake them the snaps that were created successfully might not be the next time and vice versa. Is there something to be adjusted to help fix this?

Sorry I should probably be a little more specific. I'm referring to standard picture snap shots as opposed to videos and the emulators in question are NEStopia, ZSNES, Gens, and Project 64. I've tried it originally with the standard 20 second option. Then tried it with pressing esc on my own to take the shot. Same story for both.

I'm noticing the same with the press escape to create snap feature... I went through just over a 150 mega drive games the other night and played them till they were in game before pressing escape and then at the end I went to marvel a my work only to discover that around half the files were black :(
