Hey all,

I have something strange going on between GameEx and Mame32.

In Mame 32, the games both Vertical and Horizontal play on the arcade monitor as they should (Aspect Ration is GOOD). In GameEx, the Vertical Games do not hold their aspect ration and stretch to full screen.

I have tried to delete the "Mame32.ini" file in the Mame directory and that fixes the vertical games, however the Horizontal games are squeezed in to just the center of the screen (not stretched to the full size of the arcade monitor)

Can anyone tell me what may be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks,

Thomas

You may have some specific [ROM].ini settings that need to be changed. You could delete all of the ini files out of the ini directory, but if you do that you will lose all settings for those games, such as key mappings. Unless you have a bunch of specific configurations, that would be my approach, though.

Hi. When you deleted your mame ini did you turn on the ArcadeVGA mode in GameEX's Setup Wizard ?

The ArcadeVGA mode in GameEx is on as I am using an Ultimarc Arcade VGA card.

However, I followed the suggestion BKenobi above and deleted the Mame32.ini file from the Mame32/ini folder and it is working fine. I had to reconfigure a couple of the keys, but it is working as it should.

I wish that I could figure out how to program the player 2 control on the Zinc / Playstation program through GameEx, but 1 player plays great!

Thanks for everyone's help.

There is a guide here that shows how to setup the keys in Zinc as I recall. I think it was written by Nologic. Try searching for "zinc" and see what you come up with.
