I am quite sure this has been covered, but the search function wasn't helping me! I have a cabinet, with an I-pac 4 doing my keyboard controlling. Problem is, the 4th player inputs are not set to the correct keystrokes to control the player. I figured out what each button is doing, but I cannot figure out how to change the controls in GameEx. I found in the FAQ that i need to put it into the custominput.ini and use the txt document that corresponds keystrokes to a number... but i have no idea what to do with it at that point. Is there an in depth walk through on the site that I just cant find, or how do i go about doing this. Even just an example that I can edit to my own purposes would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you trying to control GameEx with player 4's controls? If I understand the question correctly, you want to use P4 to control GameEx in addition to other players, correct? If so, I don't think it's currently possible. I tried putting together an AutoHotKey macro to accomplish this, but I failed miserably. Apparently, I can't write AHK scripts yet...

I know which keys the 4th players buttons are mapped to, i just want to know how to make those line up with the 4th players in game controls.

Within a game (any game), you hit TAB, and select Input all games. Scroll to P4 and change what you want. Hit enter on P4 Up and then move your P4 Joy Up. Go to the next one and repeat.

OR you can use the WinIpac software available on Andy's site and change the default keys for P4.

If you need more help, check out BYOAC - arcadecontrols.com. Searching for key mapping will probably give you lots of threads.

Post here if you need more help too.

DON"T hit pause while in the game before you hit tab. That causes problems!

I think he's referring to controlling the GameEx GUI.

Ihave all my PS2 controllers actively controlling the menu, so I figure this must be more closely related to your X-Arcade stick. All I had to do was set up one controller and select Use All Attached Devices in the Input Settings of the Advanced Settings. Since all four of my controllers on the PC run through the same adapter, they all work just fine. I edited custuminput.ini directly from this section, since I knew Button 1 was Square, two was Triangle, and so on.

I'm not sure if this helps you or not...
