Hello, I have been experimenting with Gameex for a couple weeks now, and understand there are some features that will only be available to me when I register. However the ability to play videos with/instead of MAME games in the screensaver didn't appear in that list.

My INI is attached below.

I have tried various ratio settings, and of course "only videos". Whatever I do the screen saver will only run MAME...even when the video only option is chosen.

My videos (vintage commercials) are in WMV format, and list and play fine in the gameex video player.

I've honestly dug around, and haven't posted for a week hoping I could find some silly setting or tidbit of info I am missing...but I've now accepted defeat..and I bow to the gameex gods here

Thanks in advance.

I should also state this is XP Pro, SP2, with WMP10 (should that matter) and there are no errors in the gameex log. Just entries about each ROM played for the screen saver.

Sorry, the screensaver will only play mpg and avi video.

I think your problem is your video snaps are in wmv. I'm pretty sure game movies have to be AVI to be shown. Plus the "semi-official" game video previews that exist are all done in AVI/Divx. Check http://www.emumovies.com for more information.

Ah. it was simple then! I didn't think of that since the player worked for WMVs.

I'll convert the videos then.

Many thanks for such a prompt reply, Tom.
