Hi all,

I'm unable to run a determinated pc game via Gameex. That game runs prefectly when I execute it from windows, but when I try to execute it from the frontend it just return me back to Gameex.

The configuration I was using to run Pc Games was working OK for the rest of games I have, but not for this one. So I have tried all the different configurations I have seen posted from other users, autoits, bat files, etc. without success.

I'm runing gameex in a arcade monitor with an arcadevga, maybe the problem is in relation with the resolutions...???

Any idea about why I can not run that game or how to solve it?

Thanks a lot in advance and let me apologize for my english

Hi, thanks for your interest.

The game is Broken Sword 3

Regards,

Hi Torete. I too have an ArcadeVga/Arcade Monitor. I was recently trying to get a game called GridWars2 working in GameEX (it worked outside GameEX fine) but although it launched/played fine, upon exit back to GameEX the screen was'scrambled' and tiled horizontally 5 times. I think it is a resolution/refresh rate problem (from Will's advice). I have set the Gridwars2 config to use the desktop resolution (640x480) i'm running at and i have GameEX set to not change resolutions so i can't think of anything else i can do unfortunately. You could the above 2 things to see if it makes any odds.

Iano, I was sure I did it, but I checked it anyway. That game allows you to choose different resolutions, 640x480 was the selected one. GameEx also was indicated not to change resolutions.

Slipstream19, yes I also tried that, I did a lot of combinations with the desktop, the debug mode, etc...

By the way, to can play to that game in my cabinet I have to exit from the frontend and execute it directly from windows. It is not a big problem, but you know... I keep trying.

Thank you guys for the answers, more suggestions are welcomed.

Cheers!!

How are you running the game from GameEx? If you are launching a file that exits and launches another it will exit back to GameEx. Often you need to find the real game exe and run that instead.

I was going to suggest the same. I have a bunch of Gamehouse Games that require me to launch the exe directly to play them in GameEx. That's why I tend to lean more towards using the External Apps feature for your PC and/or Flash games. It takes a little extra work to set each up individually but it's worth it IMHO.

Hello mates,

probably is a problem of my english level combined with my advanded ignorance about computers, but I do not understand what do you mean.

I have checked where the game is installed and the only exe there is the one I'm using.

Sorry for that, if you have a chance can you try to explain it to me again?

Thanks.
