create videos error

i read the docs, and did a quick search and couldnt find an answer,,... but when i hit the create mame videos button it errors saying "Unable to createVideos, check MAME paths, and AVI snap paths" ... where do i do that? or how do i fix this..

-my mame is all on the c: drive and all settings correlate with that.. is there somewhere else it is trying to find it from.. thanks

fistly you have to make a directory in a location you want all the videos creating. for a Full set you'l need a fair bit of hdd space

then in the config app under Basic mame settings use (video snap) browse to find the folder that you made for the videos

then you should be able to make the videos it also takes a long time to create them.

hey thanks, its working perfectly now,,,,it only worked when i used the browse button tho..when i typed it in manualy it was no dice..but thanks for the help

ok, now that ive got all my mng files created, its not playing them in gamex....

i have selected use image/item in background in gameex, and have them located in their own folder ...one thing i did notice is that all the mng files were put in their own folder too,(example, C:/mame32/snap,<--this is where there going, and instead of just seeing the mng files listed in that folder, each game is in its own folder with the mng file in that. but even if i take them out it still doesnt do any different..

anybody have any suggestions???

I'm in the same boat as you. I feel like I have followed the instructions but I still cant see the preview videos, once the path has been selected and saved, what else needs to be done to get the previews to play?
