My MAME wont stop pushing up arrow in gameex

Ok I use mame pro special 1.06 on an ipaq4 , if i load mame standalone the CP works fine. When I load gameex I can can scroll the the game menus just fine everything works, when I load a game it immediately starts spamming the UP Arrow key which is my P1 up command. If I exit out and run MAME it works fine. I have had it working in gammex before, havent changed any settings..

If the CP works fine in gammex menus but when loading mame it goes to hell what could be the issue?

*Update*

I got a new cable and it fixed it. strange though
