Problem updating mame list in GameEX

I have recently updated my mame to .111 and am having problems updating my list within the new release of GameEX the option is there and I have directed to the new dats and catver and symptoms are when I click to update the list the progress box just flickers in the background and does not continue to the progress display screen?? I am unable to find an error in the log

Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated

From the faq.

Q: The Game list won't update, or does not update correctly. For example, I see no categories or years.

A: This maybe because you are using an old version of MAME or a derivative build such as MAME Plus.

GameEx has only been tested with the newer versions of the official Windows MAME, MAME32 and AdvanceMAME. Get the latest official version of Windows MAME or MAME32. Once the Games list has updated correctly, you can probably swap over to your derivative or older build.

I simply overwrote mame with the new build and am using Mame32 .111 dled latest dat and catver and redirected the settings. The gamelist will not update as it is still showing the previous amt of roms etc.. when I have added the new roms and chd's and audited them within mame. Just cant seem to get GameEx to update the list?

I am having the same problem with my new install of GameEx.

I think that happened to me when I was updating to 0.111. When I tried a manual update from the Update List menu item it didn't work. But when I exited and came back in, it prompted for an update, I then said yes and it worked.

This is exactly what happens to me using the latest GameEx and v.111 of MAME32--just a flicker of the progress bar but no progress. I can only update successfully when it prompts me to do so.

Issue fixed : ) I had to delete the Gamelist.ini from the GameEx/Data installed dir. I ran the update list again and all is well. I hope this helps with others having the same problem

I deleted my gamelist.ini, but that didn't work. I deleted my gamelist.txt and then it worked.

My bad on that... i totally forgot to list the txt as well. I deleted both then worked
