I'm in the process of trying to map joystick inputs to keyboard commands. Has anyone done this. I've looked at two different types of software that allow this.

I'm lost. I might just need to sit down and really study this. I think the autohotkey might be the better of the two. Has anyone done this? With or without the two of these.

I have mapped my joystick to use the keyboard function... (Joy2Key) You're trying to do the exact opposite if I understand you correctly?

There are 3 programs.

Mapping Keyboard to Joystick... PPJoyKey.

Mapping Joystick to Keyboard... JoyToKey

Mapping Key to Key... AutoHotkey

There are issues launching PPJoyKey though, doing a search for "Virtua Tennis PPJoyKey" on here should render some help. Also AutoHotkey can do more than just key to key, but the above are what I recommend for each type of mapping.

Maybe I've confused you. I want to take my joystick and use it as a keyboard.(The same as you?) I think Headkaze also mentioned joy2key. I think I will start with that. Thanks.

Ok I think joy2key is exactly what I need. Can I load configuration files via. command line?

Posted

I think you can, judging by the readme

* The firstly activated configuration file can now be specified

by command line option at start up time.

I've never used the program myself, so I'm not sure how to do it.

Thx headkaze. I didn't bother to read the ver. history. I stopped reading when I got to that part. :D

I figured it out. Thanks again.

How do I close a command window from a batch file? When running joytokey from a batch file the cmd window remains open.

OK. I don't use .bat files but perhaps I need to start...

I have Virtual Pinball setup according to joy2key controls. However, I want Joy2Key to run when I'm using VPinball and terminate when I exit it.

Any way to do that? If so an explanation would be helpful.

Thanks!

PS - I used Amos's method in the Joy2Key Problems thread, but I was hoping for a cleaner way to do this.
