hey guys,

First off I love GameEX.

My problem (and i've done some reading on here) is that everytime I try to run a table from GameEX the screen goes black like its going to load and then within a few seconds it brings me back to the GameEX GUI screen. Any help would be great. Thanks

Does this work outside of GameEx?

you could also try changing your command line in the GameEx configuration to:

VPinball-XPFix4.exe -play -"[ROMPath]/[ROMFILE]"

Let us know if this works

When I go into the roms folder and open the star trek TNG .vpt file it will open the table up.

I tried changing what you said and the same stuff still happens.

try pointing to the files and paths with the browse buttons in the configuration, and make sure you add any flags ( -play -"[ROMPath]/[ROMFILE]")

this is a copy of my ini for vpinball compare it to yours. (use the export feature in the configuation)

pinball.zip

do you mean so it looks like this:

C:\Program Files\Visual Pinball\Tables play -"[ROMPath]/[ROMFILE]"

and i'm not sure where the export feature is.

Posted

open Advanced Configuration and goto "EMULATOR 3(pinball)"

The third line down has a button labled "EXPORT" use that put a copy of YOUR ini in a folder then you can compare yours with mine

-OR-

open Advanced Configuration and goto "EMULATOR 3(pinball)"

use the browse buttons to point to the folders an files for he following lines

ROMPath (Tables folder)

Working Path (Visual_pinball folder)

Also Launch (vpauto.exe)

Command Line (VPinball.exe) then add ( -play -"[ROMPath]/[ROMFILE]") It should look like:

VPinball.exe -play -"[ROMPath]/[ROMFILE]"

make sure your "Rom filter" line is set to *.vpt and your "ROMS in Folders is set to NO

hey thanks a ton ourgrace! you've made it work finally. So thanks again.

One last question, is there alot of configuring that needs to take place to get each game to work correctly and for them to open in full screen instead of windowed and such. thanks

Hey Im glad to help

Ill give you a shout back in a few about your question. Ive got a update running on my cab right now and I have to check it out on there. I don't remember alot of settings on the different emulators right off the top of my head.

Hey pcasnc

open VPinball.exe (C:\Emulators\Visual Pinball) and goto "preferences" then "Video Options" and click on "Full Screen" then highlight the desktop res you are running GameEx in, and then click "OK" and then Exit VPinball and you should be "good to go".

Have Fun

I do have one more question, which is open to anyone. I was wondering why some of these tables open up but my screen just shows the back part of a pinball machine? (like the lights and credits and scores). Thanks

Under VPinMAME setup, select the Setup Paths option:

vpm1.png

Make sure the following option is unchecked before installing.

I have another quetsion that I'm pretty sure is more to do with GameEX than pinmame. When I open up vispinball from windows and open a table they all open fine but when I open it from GameEX it tells me it cant find the DE.vbs file and a bunch of other things (that it needs version 1 or greater). Also some games will give me a message saying the same thing but the .vbs file instead is a gts3.vbs. Any help would be awesome. thanks

You do have VPAUTO set to run also?

What table are we talking about specifically?

Posted

Okay.

The VB Script file you need should be part of the VBS pack you downloaded... Unless, of course, you didn't download it. In which case, you need to download the latest VBS scripts here. You may have to be a member of VPForums to access it, so sign up and grab it.

That should solve your problem. Also, if you haven't already, be sure to install the fonts package too.

Hope that helps!

hey,

tried it and it still doesn't work, It seems to be isolated to Data East games. This is really annoying because every other game works.
