Hi Jim,

What kind of monitor do you have? If it's an older one, installing a cap kit may help. As monitors get older the capacitors dry out and change values which makes the monitor exhibit different symptoms such as synch problems, faded colors, scrambled screen, etc. It would probably do the same with differrent arcade boards as well. The best place to get cap kits and parts is Bob Roberts. http://www.therealbobroberts.com . Great guy to deal with and cap kits run about $5. There is soldering involved in replacing the caps so if you are not comfortable with doing that you probably want to find a local repair guy to do it for you. There are plenty of tutorials on the net for doing cap kits if you want to tackle it yourself. One word of caution. There are dangerous voltages in monitors and you must observe some basic safety precautions (like turn off power, discharge the monitor). they will be outlined in the cap kit procedures you find. Here's a fairly good starting point for cap kit instructions http://www.alsarcade.com/capkit.htm.

Hope this helps,

Erik

Hi guys,

Tom - can't believe the onslaught of amazing updates - simply the

best front end available man.

Guys - I'm running GameEx on a cab utilizing a J-Pac and an

ArcadeVGA card. My issue is that no matter what supported res I set

GameEx to, whenever I launch some games I get screen roll and have

to pop in the back and adjust my v-hold. This becomes especially

noticeable in attract mode and when I launch Daphne games. I

essentially have to select the game, then pop in the back and adjust

the v-hold - then when I'm done and want to return to the menu, I

have to go through the same set of tricks.

I used the ArcadeVGARes tool to configure my game res inis.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Jim
