Make sure you uninstall all instances of net framework. Then reinstall 1.1 then 2.0.

Nope did everything you said, still the same error.

i mean wtf?

it just stopped working 1 day

Hi, thats actually incorrect what lp says. You should uninstall .net 1.1 completely and not reinstall and install 2.0. That is the known fix as far as I know.

Ahh I was under the impression 1.1 was needed to upgrade to 2.0. Seeing as how when I installed 2.0, 1.1 remained on my system.

eeem when i uninstall 1.1 gameex says that it needs 1.1 installed???

what am i missing here ?

2.0 is installed at that point

i get the same if i only install 2.0 without 1.1 being installed

on a fresh install i installed .net 2.0 thinkin it would all work fine but gameex asked me to install 1.1

**Question** does gameex need 2.0? or is it jsut a case of its more stable? because my main gameex pc only has 1.1 and seem to work fine.

GameEx should install fine is 1.1 is not installed and 2.0 is. Not sure whats going on with that, maybe thats a bug or your using an old version.

Theres no real advantage to running 2.0 at this stage, although in a month or so GameEx is going to need it as Im upgrading it to it.

The main thing is it is this known fix as far as I am aware to this issue.

So no .net 1.1 installed at at all. .net 2.0 installed. No need to reinstall GameEx.

im sorry tom,

but as soon as i only install 2.0, gameex gives me an error that it misses 1.1.

so i cannot run gameex anymore at this point :(

i get the same error with only .net 2.0 installed

its a windows critical error msgbox, basicly asking you to install .net 1.1 with two build number for .net versions 1.1xxx

this was not using the gameex installer i just copied gameex folder form hdd before format and placed back on a fresh install of windows with all latest xp updates and .net 2.0, gameex verison 7.09

njay if you install .net 1.1, even over the top of 2.0 gameex should work again it worked for me

dotnet 1.1 download link

It does work with 2.0 on its own, but just realised its because your using an old install that been upgraded over time.

To fix go into the gameex folder and delete all files thae have the extensions *.exe.config.

That will do it.
