i think i worked out what the problem is if i press ESC even to stop the video recording it takes project 64 out of fullscreen and not exit

i would normaly exit the emulator with my MCe remote which im pritty sure is ESC but on the remote

its just confusing me the demo on the game will play for 5mins before i stoped it im using project 64 1.6

You tried using fraps ? its really easy to use.

Realtime Video Capture Software - Have you ever wanted to record video while playing your favourite game? Come join the Machinima revolution! Throw away the VCR, forget about using a DV cam, game recording has never been this easy! Fraps can capture audio and video up to 2560x1600 on dual-core CPUs (1152x864 single-core) at up to 100 frames per second!
