Hi

I've just installed GameEx, and when I try to launch it via the GameEx shortcut, it tells me

02:53:10.3 16/12/2006: GameEx: Version 7.09: Starting Log

02:53:10.4 16/12/2006: Error: 13 - Cast from string "5.2" to type 'Double' is not valid.

02:53:10.4 16/12/2006: ERRORS DETECTED: EXITING

Same with "create mame video", and "GameExtender Viewer" gives me only a black screen, alt F4 doesn't work, I need to close it via the task manager.

This is odd, this came up once before with Vista (which I think was hacked fake RTM version).

What version of windows are you using, and what .net framework and sp?

PS: GameExtender viewer normally gives a black screen if it cant connect.

EDIT: It is odd because a cast from "5.2" to a double is in fact valid, this should not be an error. I would try uninstalling .net 1.1 completely and try .net 2.0 or ensure you have the service pack for 1.1

This might be OS related, I'm using XP x64 with an original license, .net 1.1, hotfix KB886903, .net 2.0.

Just a bump to say that I tried the last version of GameEx (7.52), and I still can't use it on Windows XP x64. The error 13 is gone, but I have instead another application error message:

gameexapplicationerrorfq2.gif

If I click on Cancel, it just tells me that it did not found a JIT debugger.
