nice work but, my idea of a wizard is to make the setup easy as possible if someone dosnt know that the section or option is for they could click on the (?) on the right and it tells them what the option does

I Dont mean to rip your good work to bits.

Michael your in part right...the problem is they need to know what section to goto in the first place.

I personally happy to see lingpanda put forth the effort in such a way to help users.

I've been around computers for some time...well since the first PC. When I'm looking to learn how to do some thing new, I use a number of resources depending on the subject and my experince with the subject.

If its some thing I'm more or less a master of, I'll simply google it or open up a book from O'Reilly. If its some thing I need some depth on I'll open books from Wrox or O'Reilly...if I'm a noob on the suject I'll generally refer to video training by Total Training, Learnkey, AppDev, Lynda, CBT Nuggets,...so for me there is no hard and cold way to get the right anwser. :)

Any ways I personally think its got good merit...and hopefully some time to day I'll actually be able to provide some feed back.

You're not ripping on it. My hope is to aim these towards the general person with limited knowledge on Mame or computers. While you and I might know to click the "?" box for info. Lots of people would rather skip it and just make it work. It's much easier for someone to to see how something is done then to actually learn something themseleves. Look at the boob tube. How many cooking shows are there on TV? If someone wanted to know how to cook something they could just read the instructions. See what I mean. :D I know when I 1st started in computers.(TI-99). Something like this would of been a god send.

lingpanda I think your tutorials are f'n great and Tom should create a section for them on the official site. There is nothing easier than learning something through a visual way like that.

Lets get Tom to check these out and lets find some place to host them.

The only thing that I think you could improve upon is in the Setup Wizard ones, you should try and use Custom Wizard Mode more often, so you don't watch screen after screen of clicking Next. With Custom Mode you can select all the pages you want to demonstrate and go to them immediately. I would like to see more use of Custom Mode, because I put it in there after getting sick of clicking Next 1000 times! ;)

Apart from that I think you've done a stellar job. Again, Tom should make a place called Tutorials just for this!

Thanks. yeah I'm still learning the wizard. I'll have to try that custom mode out. I also was getting sick of clicking next.
