Tom this could be a bug, if the voice stopps working after screen saver mode chances are the plugin has caused an exception and closed. Can you please check this out.

Ruby, if your reading could you please tell me what exactly attract was doing, ie playing video, emulator or mame, and what you have it set it up to do. I've only tested with MAME.

I was not aware it was not working with the latest versions. Since you did a manual update I guess no way to know.

All I know is that people have been reporting issues once they update. It works ok, then they update, and stuff starts breaking. Reinstalling from a web download always seems to fix these issues, so I just do a direct download. I'm glad you didn't know about it though, since it's always nice as a developer to find new problems to fix. Of course, you also DON'T like hearing about problems, because you have to fix them too hehehe. But in the long run, when something gets fixed, it's a good thing. Keep up the great work!

Can all these voices be included with gameex? Is there a copyright issue? As far as I know. Ver 4 voices work pre xp. Ver 5 is for xp. I havent had much success with the voices on my side. I tried 3 games and the computer said "blah". Then it stopped working.

It works fine for me, just did a good test of attract mode still works fine for me.

The speech plugin is really just so simple, it was only really developed for testing the functionality. I don't think I'll be expanding on it but will fix it if I can figure out any issues. The source code is included with GameEx in the plugins folder if anyone wants to take a look.

Plugins for GameEx opens up new doors. The best FE just gets better! I urge people like Nologic to give C# a try, you can download the Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express Edition for free and write you own plugins for GameEx. (There is an example plugin in the PLUGINS folder of the latest GameEx release)

I was under the impression you couldn't compile any software you wrote with the express edition. I'll give this a whirl If I know for sure I can use the express to make things for gameex.

No that's deffinitly not the case. The express edition is decent, much like most of the MS "Express" software.
