I have a media server installed that hosts all my movies, MP3s, pictures, etc... so they are available wired or wirelessly on any system through out the house. I've tried setting up GameEx with UNC paths to shares on the media server for HTPC things like pictures but it seems to be defaulting back to the local C drive. Has anyone tried and been successful in configuring this for a UMB based UNC share name?

Nobody has. UNC paths are not supported in GameEx. At all.

You need to map drives.

You can do this in windows explorer and have the map reconnect at startup.

You can also do this with a batch file using the Net Use command if for whatever reason you have problems with the first method, and then have windows run this on startup before GameEx.

Sounds good, forgot that I read in another post that folks are using mapped network connections. I'll go forward with that approach.

I've currently got my MP3s organized by folders starting with artist, album, then tracks. Does GameEx support this type of structure?

Does GameEx read MP3 TAG info to pull titles etc... from each track?

Thanks!

Worked great, I also didn't need to map a drive for the MP3s but was able to select them from the network directly adding them into Media Player. Once in Media Player they were all availble in GameEx.

Thanks!
