Last year I posted a problem that I had with GameEx not starting after a clean install following a fresh Windows 10 build.  I never got to the bottom of the issue, and eventually gave up on it. I never uninstalled it, just left it there not working.
Today I have managed to resolve the issue, so I thought I would just post an update here, in case anyone else ever gets the same issue.
The original post was here https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/24104-gamex-clean-install-wont-start/

Today I had a problem with starting Star Wars Battlefront from a new install, and after loads of searching, I found a fix that resolved the issue for that game, and I thought I would re-try GameEx, and I have found that this has also resolved my GameEx issue !

The fix is as follows :

  • Go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features, and Uninstall any installed versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (only 2013, not the older years’ versions).

  • Make sure to follow the next steps carefully – don’t delete the wrong files by accident!

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64

  • Delete or remove msvcp120.dll

  • Delete or remove msvcr120.dll

  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32

  • Delete or remove msvcp120.dll

  • Delete or remove msvcr120.dll

  • Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=40784

  • Download and install both the vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe versions

Hopefully someone will find that of use.

  • Thanks 1
