Hello,

I just started using the advance config function for emulators that don't let you choose a keyboard press and joystick button for the same action and love it. But I have a question. My joystick has 12 buttons and the advance configs only go to 10. I tried to add buttons to the text file but that didn't help. I'm not very technically savvy so I'm sure it's something simple but I have no clue.

Your advice is appreciated,

2 buttons + controller = 10 functions is better than 10 buttons + controller = 10 buttons. At least for a GUI.

In games like MAME however, you might need 10 buttons. Or even 12 buttons. But i doubt it.

I'm sorry; I guess I don't understand your reply. If youâ??re saying that 10 buttons should be enough then, yes 10 buttons would probably be enough for any system. But, I was hoping that I could (easily) add some buttons and get the most from my Logitech gamepad. I already tried to just add some lines of text to the .ini file located in the \CONFIG\EMULATORS\ folders but that didn't seem to change it. I've included some of the .ini file here to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Hi sty151,

im not sure if its possible to have more than 10 buttons for mapping. There is another method you can try though. You can use joytokey...a very light program which maps your gamepad buttons to keyboard buttons.

You can find joytokey here:

jtk374en.zip

and instructions on how to load and close the program for emulators in gameex here:

GameEx Post

Any use to ya?

Thanks, I'll try joytokey and appreciate your directing me to some additional help setting it up. I'll let you know if I have any problems.

Thanks again,
