While I would consider myself a newbie to Gameex, I am not new to emulation.

I am having a problem where the snes, genesis, nes, and magic engine emulators all start and I can hear the sounds, but nothing is displayed on the screen. I went to the configuration and made each emulator show on desktop. This would then launch the emu, and the emu would be in a window. It would work fine just in a small window on the windows desktop. Do I need to configure the emulator first, then have Gameex launch it?

What am I missing.

THe second problem I am having seems to be with the GEN emulator. It keeps showing the framespeed. I cannot find the configuration to turn that off. Any help here.

I am using my Dell 19'' monitor right now, but I am building my slikstik cab tonight. My 27' true flat 1024x768 Billabs monitor should be here tomorrow. I am wondering if that will make any difference.

Thanks for any help.

First question - I would have said set your show desktop to yes, which you already did. So yes, you need to configure the emulator first. Make sure you have it set to go full screen on rom load, or on emulator launch, etc. Then GameEx just launches it and inserts the rom as needed. If the emulator doesn't have a direct menu option to go full screen, you may need to tweak some things. For example; changing a setting in the emulators configure file (like an ini file or whatever), adding a command line option (like -fullscreen) or adding a keystroke in the send keys section of the configurator (like an alt+enter keystroke to make it full screen).

Second question - Gen's should have an option to turn on/off the fps. Go into Gens, then Option, them Misc..., then in the second box it has FPS. Either uncheck the box that says "Enable" of tweak the color, size, transparency to your liking.

Hope that helps! :) Welcome to the forum and have fun playing!

Thanks for the quick reply....I guess I never put 1 and 1 together. So I should probably configure all of the emulators to run correctly from the desktop then test them with Gameex. That makes a lot more sense.

I will play around with the configuration when I ge home. I will post back my results.

Thanks,

Jay
