Is there any way to make GameEx force a certain resolution on emulators that don't have a command line switch? Most notable being Stella and Magic Engine?

I hear people talk about 'wrappers' all the time. Is this what I would need to do this?

All help is appreciated (as always)

There's an app available in Retroblast.com's file section that let's you control which resolutions your games work in and the refresh rate. For some reason I can't connect to retroblast right now so I can't give you the exact link, but if it's not in their 'files' section, check their article on arcade monitors, I'm sure they're linking to that app in that one.

Edit: Here's the link to the app: http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/

I'm not 100% this is what you're looking for, but it could be.

That's not really what I need...

MagicEngine runs at a max resolution of 600x800. I want it to run in 1024x768 instead, or else it screws up my extended desktop on my PC. Does that make sense or am I a complete idiot? If I set an emulator up to run at 1024x768 it won't need to change resolution and make my secondary monitor (which shows my desktop while GameEx is running) look like complete crap. ;)

I scrubbed that forum I thought. Thanks Kaz! :)

How about for Stella?

From the Stella docs

-gl_fsmax <0|1>

OpenGL mode only. Use the current desktop resolution when switching to fullscreen OpenGL mode (so a video-mode switch can be avoided). If not supported, then use the maximum possible resolution available.

Once again the Kaz comes through. Thanks! :)
