Most of the racing games in Mame that are recent are very choppy or just unplayable for me. Cruisin' USA, Rage Racer, etc. I have tried on multiple PCs, and even my fastest one wont run it (and it is a AMD64 3800, with a 7900GTX PCIe card). Any ideas?

Moast racinggames in mame really suck. i can get cruzin usa to run at about 20fps with autoframeskip n stuff on. No matter what kind of processor you have.

but if you must run it in mame run with -noafs and -high priority but it wont run good.

ive heard it takes a 6ghz processor to run cruzin in normal speed.

mame moastly uses processor so eaven your 1900xtx in crossfire or dual 7900 wont do any good.

try the N64 version instead! (cruzin) not as cool thoough. or chek if some of the games are ported to dreamcast for better emulation that way.

I've been tinkering with these games a little and there is always a little performance improvement each revision of mame. Some of them can go real nice using auto-skip (audio can lag/stutter still) but I've yet to see anything really playable on my P4 HT 3Ghz & GT6600 card.

Way I look at it is that it's great to see the starts of an emulated game and it's one of the things i always test out each mame revision.

Though.. the n64 emulators are somewhat more complete and playable, tho it's not the exact same. Please if anyone has a magic bullet to get these roms running nice lemme know! (Carnevil is in the same bag btw). Oh, and some of the games on the Dreamcast are great fun to play!
