Escape Key Problem

Hi,

Just had an automatic update to GameEx and since then every time I use the Escape key (or player 1&2 start) on my cab the game closes but so does GameEx. Takes me right back to my XP Desktop and I cannot get GameEx to start again without a reboot. I assume it is related to the update but I have been tinkering(as you do!) so I am not sure.

and most of my vertical games dont work?

The vertical games has been addressed before, it's due to a change in MAME. You need to set USE BEZEL to "Don't Use Bezel". That will take care of that

The new problem causes GameEx to appear to quit when you esc from a game, put the gameex process is still running. You can go to task manager and terminate it, and GameEx can be restarted. The log gives me a DNS error, so that should help Tom figure it out. I reinstalled the older version, and all is fine.

I found what's causing it and I have NO clue why as nothing changed from the last rev.

Edit the launcher .bat and what I did was remove everything BUT:

gameex.exe - quick

save it and then try your luck.

Great. The lauch.bat was the answer. thanks a lot

im having the same esc'ing problem, whenever i exit a game, it brings me right to the desktop, but the stranger thing is i have the setting turned off for esc to shutdown gameex.

Yes sorry folks, this is fixed in 6.78 now available. Some rogue test code got in there that I forgot to remove.
