Newbie Question

HI

Everything is installed and I have attempted to configure as best I can. GameEx gets as far as 21:05:55.1 18/04/2005: Testing Main Loop Once: Drawing Background then exits.

I've looked at FAQ's and other forum articles but can't find the answer.

V 3.63 with DirectX (forget version but he one that the GameEx recommends/installs during installation).

Log and config attached.

Please help.

I need your config. Can you post Config\gameex.ini.

Please extract the GameEx.exe in the attached zip over your current one.

Run and then post the log.

Can you delete the themes directory completley. Then reinstall 3.63. Then replace the exe and then post the log.

Can you tell me what video card you have, and do you have new drivers for it?

Deleted directory, reinstalled and replaced exe with 3rd (last) debug copy you posted. Log file attached.

Video is on-board SIS650/740 on Jetway 640 DMU motherboard. Drivers are up to date. I'll try upping the shared memory on offer to the video card.

Yes do that. I did all this as I thought it was a bug in GameEx, but it seems its down to your config (work done will be useful in future though).

Seems like it does not want to blit using directdraw anymore after its drawn the background. You could also try 16-bit colour and running at a lower res.

Increased shared video memory from 32MB to 64MB and it fired up. Sorry, I didn't check minimum specs but does GameEx require 64MB video RAM to run?

I didn't know but, I guess we just answered the question At least on your system at 1024 x768 @ 32 bit. I'd be interested to know if 800 X 600 @ 16 runs on your system at 32MB. Perhaps you could test for me?

and no problem, its helped me get a better idea of requirements needed for future posts like this.
