Xbox One controller on GameEx, exit game function not working

I'm normally good at figuring software/hardware problems out, been in the emulation scene for a while and a GameEx user for over 10 years.

I've been using a wireless Xbox 360 controller for the HTPC mostly, the 360 controller is all configured and works flawlessly on GameEx interface, MAME and RetroArch. Recently I upgraded to the Xbox One controller which is the latest version with wireless Bluetooth, plugged it in and Windows picks it up and installs it as a Bluetooth Xinput device. The Xbox One controller continues to work perfectly with MAME and RetroArch, exactly like the 360 controller, I did not have to remap any buttons which was vital to my requirements and setup hence why I moved to the Xbox One controller. In the GameEx interface I can still navigate the menus like I could with the 360 controller however, one vital function no longer works - with the Xbox One controller I cannot exit a game when it's running. I have a 3 button combination setup in GameEx to exit a game - dpad down, back (button 6) and start (button 7), when I switch back to the 360 controller the exit button combination works as it should.

Anyone else using a Xbox One controller? Can you exit a game with a button combo set in the GameEx config?

I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 x64 and all drivers etc are up to date.

Any help on this is appreciated, I'm stumped why the Xbox One controller exit combo doesn't work in GameEx and the 360 Controller works absolutely fine.
