aargh i have another problem:(.

i cant get to run the chd files, the files show up on the list but when i start a game the screen goes black and after about 10sec ut turns back to the gameex menu while the games do work when i start them up trough mame itself. anyone any advice?

ps: i did a search on the forum but i cant search for any words under 4lettres

You don't run the .chd file, you run the ROM set. The .chd should be in a folder named exactly like the parent ROM set. You cannot zip this folder and it needs to be located in the same folder as your ROMs.

PS - Unless you have a super nice PC, you probably won't get much satisfaction from a hard-drive based ROM set.

ok, ive put the chd files in maps (same name as the roms) and ive put those maps in the rom folder. same result thou. the screen turns black as if the game loads, after 5 secs it returns to the gameex screen

hmm it seems that the only game not running is hyper athlete. the other game do run, i did notice hyperathlete is on the zinc games list. hyper athlete was the game i was looking for, anyone has any ideas?

ok, for the people who are having the same problem. i found the problem, it seems that hyperathlete conflicts with winterblasts plugin so the only way to play this game is trough mame wich i think is not possible unless you uninstall zinc( in wich case i would loose the abbility to play the rest of the games at a decent speed.) the other way would be to assign the buttons to zinc without using the winterblast plugin. i havent found any tuts on doing this, all the tuts show me how to install the controls with the plugin. is there anyone here who knows how to assign the controls without winterblsasts plugin?
