Two problems... HotD3 and quitting with Alt F4

Hey All,

I'm having some trouble that I was hoping someone out there might have a fix for.

The first is this: Virtua Squad uses "Alt + F4" to quit the game. With this combination of keys I can't seem to figure out how to make the game go back to GameEx when I quit it. I know that the "map keys" will handle returning to GameEx when Esc is pressed but this doesn't seem to do anything for Alt + F4. Anyone out there have a suggestion? It's not really a big deal but I like to hide the Windows OS as much as possible on my cabinet.

My second issue is this: With one of the recent releases of GameEx I suddenly started having trouble with the PC game House of the Dead 3. I have this game set up as an external application. Basically the game does not launch directly from an executable but rather launches from a separate launcher program.

So, in my gameex config I have gameex pointed to the launcher.exe file and from there I can launch the game. The problem is that while gameex will load up the launcher.exe program; as soon as I hit the button to start the game, House of the Dead 3 will launch and then minimize and I'm taken back to GameEx.

If I close GameEx, House of the Dead will be running minimized.

This use to work just fine until on of the recent GameEx releases (not sure which one goofed it)

Does anyone else have this game set up on their cab in GameEx and if so what did you do to make it work?

My understanding of the way gameex works is that when you launch an app and then the app closes gameex returns to focus. With that said it might explain why you have the issue your having. You are using a launcher to launch the application once the launcher launches the game the launcher closes and Gameex regains focus thinking its run the program and you done. You also stated the it does run in the backround. Will ALT+Tab bring it into focus without closing gameex? if it does you can use the send keys feature to automaticly do that. also you might want to look into the default directory of where the program is installed you might just get lucky and actually find the executable for the game or maybe you can find some command line options...

As far as your other issue with virtuasquad Im assuming its a lightgun game? does your lightgun show up in Game controllers in your controlpanel(windows) if it does I would try setting it up in the emulators section because the Advanced Config is excellect for mapping keys. most all programs will close with ALT+F4 and in the advance config you can specify when you press buttons 1,3,5 at the same time it will send an ALT+F4 and close the program and return to gameex.
