Getting close now. Tom, will this mean that GameEx users "have" to update their MAME builds in order for GameEx to work properly, or will the "old" version also be supported with some sort of version detection inside GameEx for a limited period?

I hope to do the latter and not for a limited period, but need to check it out first. Has the build in question actually been released yet? If not can someone let me know as soon as it is?

I have .106, I don't bother with the unstable builds, I will wait until .107 comes available. I hope that GameEx's updates are not based on such unstable releases.

Update:

Seems the games list mostly updates fine. I noticed the following MAME sections in GameEx showed no games: Lightgun, Horizontal and Vertical.

People shouldnt be using unstable MAME builds anyhow, but Ill take a look at adding compatible.

well .107 (when released) and a few releases ahead you should consider them to be alittle unstable becouse of the new rewritten display driver and other major rewritten things

but i agree i always only get the main releases as well but just wanted to point it out so it wouldnt suprise anyone
