I have been able to get VP, VPX, Timeshock and FX2 to work by rotating at start

Can VPX be installed so I don't have to rotate?

It would help me get Pinball Arcade and other on the Cab easier.

Yes. Any VPX tables installed will have to be rotated 0 degrees. Usually, tables are published rotated 270 deg so that setup with Pinball X will be compatible with VP9 tables. 

 

But, it's always user's choice. Set things up how you like it. PinballX is usually pretty accommodating.
