[EDIT] Sorry guys, its not possible to convert the theme to 680 x 480. I've tried for the last hour or so, and i cant get the layout to work, in fact, i cant even get the menu/database at the bottom of the screen without errors!

Thanks for trying anyway

I just noticed that the version 8.10's changelog says:

"Much better display quality of themes when shown at different resolutions "

Is there any chance this would help let this theme work at 640x480?

I know I'm jsut clutching at straws but I'm still really wanting this theme in my cab :(

I just came across this cool looking theme and decided to give a try. Unfortunately, it crashes when I try to use it. The error log says something about Alien League not being found. Is that a font or something that I need to download to get it to work? Any info would be great.

Taken from the readme file.

# IMPORTANT - You must install the 'ALIEN5.TTF' font for the theme to work. #

# Or you can change the theme's font (see further down) #

---------------------------------------

To install the font follow these steps:

---------------------------------------

1. Click the start menu

2. Select 'My Computer'

3. Control panel

4. Double click on the 'fonts' icon.

(if cannot see this, you need to click 'switch to classic view' on the left of the window)

5. Finally drag the 'ALIEN5.TTF' file into the 'fonts window'. The font should now be working.

If you want to check its working before using Gameex; then look for it in microsoft word.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TROUBLESHOOTING & ALTERATIONS

==========

THE MOVIE:

==========

This video is meant to be played after Gameex had finished initialising,

it is enabled by default, if it isn't showing, or you want to disable it;

then open the 'theme.ini', and check the path to the video (the first line), it should look like this:

StartupVideo=C:\Program Files\GameEx\THEMES\Default - Future Retro\Intro Movie

(I have diabled the loading screen, because i think it looks better without it

in this case, you can enable it by following the instruction below)

============================

Disabling parts of the theme

============================

I've added some extra information into the theme.ini to make make sure the theme's displayed

at its best, if you want to stop some of these choices loading then you need to alter some

lines in the 'theme.ini'

- Disabling the theme's mediacontrols

Delete this line from the 'theme.ini': EnableMediaControls=True

- Show the normal loading screen before the intro video:

change "ShowLoadingScreen=False" to True

- Disbaling the startup video;delete this line:

StartupVideo=C:\Program Files\GameEx\THEMES\Default - Future Retro\Intro Movie

- Make the now playing media text black:

change: "MakeToolbarTextWhite=True" to false

Hi Stu,

you're not alone, people have requested that resolution before... i've tried to make it work a few times but it's a pretty tall order to cut a theme's resolution almost in half.

Unfortunately errors are really common, the only way gameex can handle it is if i mess up the layout. The menu area looks something like this:

sorry bud, but i cant see a way to make it work :(

If it becomes possible it the future i'll have another go.
