stigzler
Even after 3 years, I'm still finding corners of GameEx I never knew existed! Trying the get the Play Selection Music feature working. Have downloaded some platform specific mp3s and put them into a folder. Have placed mp3s in the root and also sub folders, just to test flat vs recursive folder scanning. The music doesn't play. I do have videos running for the system - not sure how this feature works - does it play when there is no video audio?] Tried both with and without custom menus - makes no difference. Had a quick scout round gameex.ini - couldn't see anything obvious asside from not finding the music settings in the relevant emulator Section. Any ideas, fellas? stigzler
S'OK I figured it. Something to do with setup wizard. When you progress from Emulator Setup to Advanced Emulator Setup, despite the top combobox matching the previous emulator, the linked data is not refreshed. Just re-chose the emulator from this + data refreshed (was starting with psx, but the data was going into ps2)
stigzler
Soooo..... I wonder how hard it would be to quickly fade the game music playing when browsing in an emulator leads to a video being played? And then to fade it back up once vids are stopped playing (e.g. if showing other artwork). * whistles...

stigzler
@Tom Speirs - thanks for the update, tom. So it's looking like it's fixed the problem of video audio playing over the background music audio as videos now appear muted when you have bg music enabled, which is a great improvement. Just to check, however, that it's not meant to be playing bg when showing non-video artwork then returning to video audio when showing videos (essentially cross-fading the audio between video audio and bg audio depending on game artwork/video)? My guess would eb this would be a whole other ball game?
Tom Speirs
Yeah, its just a simple solution. Nothing special.
