True Full screen in VP 10.1 loses focus

Hi Tom,

You asked me to contact you on this site rather than vpforum.  I am having an issue using the true full screen mode Visual Pinball 10.2 only when using pinball x to load the tables.  I receive the following error when I load the table "File 'C:\Progam files x86\tables\.direct2bs not found please rename or download the matching backglass files" .  This happens on the majority of my tables to name a few:

twilight zone VPX

vernes world VPX

Bride of Pinbot VPX

Catcus Canyon VPX

...

Please let me know if you would like to do a screen sharing session to help solve this issue.

I can confirm the same issue.  For some reason under certain circumstances the B2S server is not detecting the VPX process properly to get the table name to use when searching for the directb2s file.  Not sure if it's a timing issue or what, but it only happens on certain tables, when running B2S server in EXE mode, VPX in fullscreen mode, and launching the table from PinballX.

The stop-gap solution is to run with Task Manager.

Options -> Always On Top can be unchecked

I am not sure what you mean....I have started task manager and ran the c:\PinballX\PinballX.exe from the menu.  This doesn't stop the direct2bs crash that I normally see.

Well, it may just be the solution that works for me as I run a custom launch script. I documented the issue and a solution here:

It may be that you can try to have PinballX launch Task Manager programmatically.

To clarify for Josh, I run VP while Task Manager is also running. That solved my issue with launching VP within PinballX and loading large B2S files. I don't know why that works for me but it does.

OK I take that back, I haven't been able to reproduce the issue lately.  I'm running all the latest beta versions of everything now (vpx, b2s, etc.), so maybe something got fixed.

Yeah, today's VP beta release fixed that.
