I envisioned something like this...then I discovered emulators and GameEx...whew! I may still showcase my old consoles in an entertainment cabinet someday, at which point I think I'll go with a more traditional AV switch. +1 for ingenuity and tenacity though. I gotta give it to him, that's dedication! That's way hack!

I think I posted this years ago, and if I didn't I'm sorry I didn't.  I saw this video and joined his site so I could keep up on his progress.  Looks like an engineering nightmare, but a lot of fun.

Just to bring you up to speed, Hans, he actually finished it. Personally, I love the juxtaposition of his wife's ornaments (towards end of the vid). At least, I assume they're hers!
