Setting up trackball and spinner

I have a slikstik classic on my cab and I can't seem to get the trackball and spinner up and running.

In games like centipede and marble madness (classic trackball games) I am forced to use my joystick.

I have tried to change the inputs for each game but I haven't had any luck with it.

What am I missing? How can I set up MAME in general to recognize my trackball and spinner for my games or do I have to set it up for each individual game.

Open the mame.ini file in notepad/wordpad, look for the setting stating mouse. Set mouse as 1 not 0. Or, if you only run from the commandline once in a while, add the -mouse flag.
