Escaping SNES9X back to GameEx?

Sorry, attached.

I can work out how to exit using a single dedicated controller button but I don''t have enough buttons in the right places to do that so I'm looking to do with via a key combination. In MAME I've arranged it so when you press Player 1 and Player 2 start buttons it exits to GameEx and I'd like my SNES9X to do the same ideally.

I could add a new button at a push but I'd rather not given it's all painted now.

You can set up a global exit in GameEx so that when you hit the exit combination for any emulator, it exits. Some emulators (like SNES9x) need an extra little nudge to work, but most work very well with it. It is under Input Settings > Global Exit.

For instance, on my setup I primarily use XBoxOne controllers. In the Global Exit, I have the Joystick Exit set to both triggers plus pushing down on both sticks. Enable Escape Key Exit is also set to Yes. When those four buttons on the controller are pressed at the same time, the emulator stops and focus is returned to GameEx.

For Snes9x, I also have the Advanced Config set to [Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) under the Advanced Emulator Setup. This should override the Snes9x's normal ESC functionality.

You could certainly do something similar if you have a control panel or keyboard. You just have to find a combination that works for you. It's worked really well for me.

Hi. I tried the global exit and whilst one controller button worked I couldn't get a combo to work. The wizard doesn't seem to accept two simultaneous button presses. So I found the config file that related to that and found global exit entry but couldn't get it to work. Is the pipe an AND or an OR?

When you set it up via the Setup Wizard, each time you press a new key or button, it adds it to the combination...so the pipe represents an AND in this case.

I cannot think of a way to allow a global exit to be triggered from two controllers with different button combinations unless an external program is used to listen for the combination.

OK thanks a lot, This actually seems to be working OK now then.

However I now seem to have a problem with my main gameex button mappings. I used to have Button 1 as select, Button 2 as back and Button 3 as page. Was working fine. Now Button 2 doesn't do anything but Button 3 is back. None of the 6 buttons are page. I've been through the wizard and deleted and readded them and it's detecting the buttons fine and showing them being mapped, but they act as above.

I guess I must have changed something but I can work out what?
