[Reminder] Permission for FTP files

Sorry to be a party pooper but could I please remind folks to not upload media to the FTP where permission may be an issue.

Please ensure you have permission or you are sure the authors don't mind it being hosted on our FTP.

Where there is doubt, simply asking the author normally goes a long way and most support the cause.

I also wanted to let authors know that if you want anything removed it is not a problem. Just drop me a note. Ill be right on it.

Just to clarify Tom.... do you mean author of the original table / game, or more specifically, an author of the custom created media? (ie, Draco's Wheel images)

I just uploaded stuff similar to what I already saw on the FTP (the videos I captured myself). If anything I uploaded is a no-no, please tell me, so I will know in the future.

I'm not hosting tables so I am referring to media. People can still get upset about the media but obviously tables are a bigger issue which we are not even getting involved with here as of yet.

I am mostly concerned with hyperspin and emumovies content which I have to go away and check on if I spot it. Mainly because that is "paid for" content.

Now I understand.... roger that.

I myself haven't gotten anything from emumovies or any FTP from Hyperspin. I did however get the MAME wheel logos from the Hyperspin website itself. (The free downloads section)

Any Pinball wheel logos, audio or media came from other websites (VP forums, pinsimdb, etc) and your FTP.  All table, dmd, and backglass videos for the most part I recorded myself.

Hopefully, what I have is ok.
