You do make a good point, and I recognise that.

This is my response:

I want to make GameEx to be almost a complete front end for Arcade Cabinets. I love MCE, but my real joy before that came along was having my own arcade cabinet. I want to make GameEx a complete solution for Arcade Cabinets, and Stand alone Game PC's. Imagine someone that builds a purpose built games machine, but wants to 'shell' directly into GameEx. No login, no windows desktop, no windows basically. All they want to do is hook it up to a TV play games, and entertain themselves with just a joypad. If they want to play a movie, or look at a porn slideshow there screwed. (Sorry little humour there).

The weather could be a bit extravagant yes. But what if a user want to create a help page for GameEx, or some other information such as information about the Gaming Center GameEx is running in. They could just write an HTML page, and have gameex view it. The Weather was just a demo of the functionality this feature can bring.

In addition, the games functionality apart from a few feature requests such as the ones from yourself, and a couple of bugs, is pretty much fully complete. There's not much more I can do functionality wise. Because of this, and I get a big kick out of GameEx, developing for it, and having people switch to it from other Front-Ends, Plus adding new functionality is more fun, that is why.

I did see your requests, but most really did not strike me as a great thing to do. Although that does not mean I won't implement them. This is a hobby, and although donations are welcome, we are not talking big bucks at all. The reason I allow donations is not for me but for others, if they feel they want to thank me or show gratitude for my efforts. GameEx is currently costing ME a hell of a lot more money than I make from donations, or probably ever will.

Why add a place to play videos or pictures or weather.. Tom,

honestly do what the program should be for, games. You do know

whats going to happen, people are going to start hitting support for

how do i play this movie, this doesnt play, or my pictures are

showing wrong. Honestly do yourself a favor, stick to what the app

started as, for video games. I love the app, in fact, I clicked on

your slikstik banner before I bought one so I hope you get some

credit for that. Im also waiting for some update features then I

will actually donate... first time for everything but I value your

work.
