[RESOLVED] 7zip warning message prevents 7zip to work in gameex

Hello,

7zip files that have a warning message prevents 7zip to work in game ex,

extract these 7zips with the warning message and simply 7zip them again the games work instantly in gameex

i hope i could help other people save some time (took me hours to figure out)

AND avoid a space at the very end of the name of the rom, the .7z or .zip won't load!

below is a long explanation

after several hours of tinkering to get multiple TRACK.bin to work in epsx i have only one conclusion: the 7zip files that does produce a Warning message in 7zip that other 7zip files does not produce prevents 7zip support to stop from working in gameex.

When extracting for example Firestorm - Thunderhawk 2 .7z then a Warning occurs: "Warnings: There are some data after the end of the payload data" they are packed with LZMA24. The extracted 7zip file does contain multiple TRACK.bin files and the .cue. When mounting the .cue with Alcohol120% the image with the multiple tracks is mounted and when starting epsx the game loads without a problem. But when loading the 7zip file in gameex and start the game with the .cue the 7zip is not unpacking (proof is lack of loading animation from game ex) and directly!!! fires up epsx that is of course not loading the mounted image because in the background there is a error message from alcohol that the Firestorm - Thunderhawk 2.cue could not be found.

When starting a psx game in gameex where the 7zip is without warning and the .cue is loaded in dtloader with the [ALCOHOL] Command line there is a loading animation from game ex where in the background the 7zip is extractet, after 20 seconds the loading animation fades and epsx fires up and the game loads successfully. These 7zips does have no warning and are LZMA26.

Well thanks for the info and glad it's working! I have an app that unzips rar, zip and 7-zip and recompresses them to 7-zip which I use to prevent both issues like this and to keep my sets the same. Maybe I should clean it up, add an integrity check and release it.

Thanks for the post!

If you have a nice tool for this that would be very handy!

I tried different command lines with 7zip but its a hassel, i now have total commnder with a 7zip plugin. After decompression of my faulty 7zips i wil 7zip 500 psx folders.
