I have been playing with about 10 different front ends on my cabinet for about 6 months now, I had previously used Mamewah for quite some time but it just was missing some things.. After testing all the front ends I could find I decided on GameEx because it simply is the best.

There are a few things that I am wishing for and I am not sure are possible.

1. I wish I could manually edit the game lists, add, delete, change the name displayed in the list ect..

The main reason for that is because the rom list system is great but it misses a few of my favorite games that I know for a fact work and I have on my hard drive. (Yes I have allow imperfect set to on) The other reason for a list editor is that I hate the (extra) bracketed text in the list but I need it on some games to tell the difference between some versions. If I could change the displayed name it would be a quick fix, I used to manually edit my game list in mamewah all the time.

2. A easy to use key config app.

I have a custom key set made but it would be nice to be able to change the key mappings similar to mame through a menu.

Just my two cents, keep up the great work..

That would be pretty sweet! :)

I agree with this one. Maybe even a little app that just generates the text file that gameex reads. If I knew a damn thing about programming, I'd make one myself. Unfortunately I'm an idiot when it comes to stuff like that.

I think it would be cool to have an option of deleting games from the list, directly from the frontend. That way, you could test/find nonworking games and delete them without exiting gameex.

How about letting GameEx display the rom version in the info screen below the rom name?

Next to game category, there would be (Japan, World or what not). I also miss this. I guess that an automized "no bracketed text" option like the one in GameEx could need some fine tuning. It would be best if you could make some choices in the configuration before generating the game list.

Pressing the delete key in the game list will remove the currently selected game from the list.

I do get the version info along side my rom names, I was tinkering about with the 'don't show bracketed text' and such in the config. I'm sure it's not showing everything but it is showing me what revisions I'm going to run when I hit play (eg: choplifter bootleg works, where as the original doesn't).

But to edit down the specifics is a nice feature, but i wouldn't need it (personally).
