When I try to load a ROM into Ootake with GameEX, I get a rom image file not found message. My paths are correct to the ROMS (set up as default) and it works fine if I just use the ootake.exe and load the HU card via the green screen. Am I missing something in the parameters?

I've attached a screen shot of the config.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there surfdesign and welcome!

Unfortunately TG-16 is one of those PITA systems that takes a lot of work to get going, no matter which route you take.

Firstly, and this is just to help us help you, can you provide your GameEx.ini and your log.txt directly after you have attempted to launch a game using Ootake. Instructions are here.

Secondly, your command looks too basic for this system. Do you have any mounting software installed such as Daemon Tools? What file format are your roms ie .zip, .iso etc The more information you can provide, the quicker we should be able to help you out :)

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like GameEx wants to load a .zip file and my ROMS are in .pce format. Guess I have to zip them back up

No don't do that ^_^

I noticed you have a map file enabled - any reason? I think this might be why GameEx is expecting .zip files

Another thing you can try is in the Emulator Setup> Rom Filter, enter *.pce

Looking at the log really helped. I just zipped the files back up with WinRAR and now it works like a champ. I tried putting .pce in the filter and it didn't work either, still went with the .zip, guess it's in the database? I'm not sure what the map file does either?

I just hope this might help someone, I spent forever searching for the issue, it was mainly CD based issues. Some emus like zips some don't I guess?

Thanks so much!

No worries i'm just glad my ramblings got you on the right track :D

FYI a map file is used to explicitly tell GameEx what to use, which is why i thought it was the culprit :)

May there be many more ramblings!
